On a very humid hot Labor Day, Mr. Thrifty and I went out to the garage to begin tackling the estate sale desk for his office.
The big question was do we paint it or refinish the desk?
Here is the desk in question.
Mr. Thrifty took out the belt sander and got to work.
We were concerned about getting the scratches on the top of the desk out.
The scratches came out.

He continued to sand the flat edges but did not complete them.
At this point, I made the decision to paint it with General Finishers Lamp Black paint.
I used this paint on the vintage oak mantle piece a few years back. I was so happy with the deep black color.
Wait and see what 2 coats of the Lamp Black does on the desk.
