After living here for almost 10 years, the mailbox was showing wear, especially a lot of rust. It was time to freshen it up.
After purchasing a new mail box, Mr. Thrifty scraped the pole using a wire brush. He then applied two coats of a product which turns rust into metal. It is an amazing product. We then spray painted two coats of high gloss Ultra 2 black paint.
The biggest challenge in doing this project was finding the exact type font of adhesive numbers to put on the box itself. After 2 months of looking, I found 2 inch numbers that resembled the original font It wasn't a perfect match, but we were happy with the results. I found the numbers at Staples.
We are very happy with the results.
