BLUE AND WHITE MOSAIC CROSS

My sister Merri came to help me after my surgery last October.  I wanted to make something as a thank you to her.  She mentioned that she really would like to have a mosaic cross to hang in her newly decorated bedroom.  Her theme was blue and white Oriental with a touch of coral.

After making the silver “Naples” China pattern cross, I was ready to give it another try.

I collected my blue and white china and hammered the plates.  I began with the 4 ends of the cross using the outside edges.  Then, it was easier to fill in the center.

I opened the tile adhesive and began putting the china bits in place.

After I glued all the china onto the cross, I let it dry overnight.
The next day, I applied the grout, cleaned the tiles and let that dry one more night.

I am so happy with the way this cross turned out.  I have two more different kinds of china that I'm going to use in two more crosses.
Thank you sister Merri!

NEW SPRING WREATH 2019

I realize that I am so behind on my postings.  Life has just been busy.  Anyway, I'm ready to hop back on board and share my postings again.

Today, I want to share with you a new spring wreath that I placed  outside on the front door.  Just fun faux flowers that I picked up on sale at Hobby Lobby.

There is no rhyme or reason to the placement of flowers on the wreath.

The punch of color from the azaleas is amazing!

I used my favorite watercolor app: Waterlogue

What a lovely time of the year!
