VALENTINE CUPID CARD

I have always been fond of Ellen Clapsaddle postcards.

Ellen Hattie Clapsaddle (January 8, 1865 - January 7, 1934) was an American illustrator/commercial artist in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Not only is her style greatly admired and well recognized, today she is recognized as the most prolific souvenir/postcard and greeting card artist of her era.(Wikipedia)

This particular postcard showing cupid fairies delivering their valentines in snapdragons has always appealed to me.  How precious those faces are!

Sooner or later, this postcard image would be transformed into my annual Valentine's card.  Picking up on clearance at TJ Maxx was this Jolee's Boutique package of notions, ribbons, papers and embellishments inspired from old world France.

The clear crystal adhesive hearts came from the 3 dimensional section at Michael's.  The linen-like background was part of the Jolee's package.

This red and white polka dot linen with faded label was also part of the package.

What would Valentine's Day be without a bit of lace ribbon?

I am happy to have captured so many types of textures in this card.
Another sweet card made with love.

Even though TJ Maxx doesn't have a large scrapbook section, always hunt through the clearance aisle to see if you can come up with any treasures.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
